NIMA Predicts 236 days of Intense Rainfall for Lagos

Lagos State government on Tuesday put the residents on alert over expected random heavy rainfall in the state for 236 days this year.
Tunji Bello, the state commissioner for the environment, who stated this in Ikeja, the state capital, based his revelation on forecast by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, using the seasonal rainfall predictions instrument.
Following the disclosure, residents who spoke with BusinessDay expressed worries, and called on the state government to intensify efforts towards ensuring drainages and canals are cleared to avoid heavy flooding during the year.
